Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 27/09/2026
These terms apply to purchases and bookings made with Clew Bay Floral Studio, including website orders, orders placed directly with us, wedding and event flowers, and decoration hire.
Please read them before placing an order or confirming a booking. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
1. About Us
Clew Bay Floral Studio is operated by Clew Bay Floral Studio Limited, trading as Clew Bay Floral Studio.
Business address: Clew Bay Floral Studio Limited, Lecanvey, Murrisk, Westport, Co. Mayo, Éire, F28 K192.
Email: hello@clewbayfloralstudio.ie
Telephone: 087 343 1258
Company registration number: 816775
VAT registration number: n/a
Our business address is provided for correspondence and identification. It does not indicate a public shop or collection facility. Any collection or visit must be agreed with us in advance.
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Clew Bay Floral Studio. “You” means the customer placing an order or making a booking.
2. Our Flowers and Arrangements
We create bouquets, floral arrangements and floral tributes using fresh flowers and foliage.
Flowers are natural products. Their size, shape, shade and stage of opening can vary, and some may arrive in bud to allow them to open over time.
Product photographs show the general style and presentation of an arrangement. The description and selected size explain what is included. Any photograph showing a particular size or an illustrative arrangement will be identified where relevant.
Natural variation does not affect our responsibility to supply flowers that meet the agreed description and are of satisfactory quality.
Accessories, vases, stands and other decorative items shown in photographs are included only where stated in the product description or written quote.
3. Seasonal Availability and Substitutions
Flower availability changes with the season and our suppliers’ stock.
Where a substitution is necessary, we will aim to preserve the arrangement’s overall style, colour palette, quality and value. Any substitute will be of equivalent or greater value at no additional cost.
Where a particular flower, colour or feature is expressly agreed as essential, or a substitution would materially change your order, we will contact you for agreement before proceeding. If we cannot agree a suitable alternative, we will refund the affected item or order as appropriate.
Please tell us before ordering if a particular flower must be included or avoided. We will confirm whether we can meet that requirement.
4. Florists Choice and Bouquet Sizes
Our Florist’s Choice bouquets are designed using flowers selected by our florist according to freshness, seasonal availability and the chosen price level.
The flower varieties and colours are a surprise unless we have expressly agreed particular preferences with you.
Standard, Luxury and Deluxe options refer to the description provided for that product. An upgrade may increase fullness through additional flowers or foliage; it does not necessarily increase every flower variety or the rose count unless stated.
5. Prices and Payments
Prices are shown in euro. Consumer prices include applicable taxes. Delivery, setup, collection, hire and other additional charges will be disclosed before you commit to an order or booking.
Website payments are processed through Stripe. Invoice and in-person payments are taken through the AIB/AIB Merchant Services and Clover services available to our business.
Full payment is required for ordinary bouquet orders unless we agree otherwise in writing. Wedding and event payment schedules are set out in the accepted quote or booking confirmation.
We do not add optional charges without your agreement.
If we identify an obvious pricing or description error before accepting your order, we will contact you with the correct information. You may proceed at the corrected price or cancel for a full refund. We will not make an additional charge without your agreement.
6. Placing and Confirming an Order
Please check the products, sizes, delivery date, recipient details, address, Eircode and gift message before submitting your order.
For website purchases, your order is accepted when we send an order confirmation expressly accepting it. An automated acknowledgement stating only that we have received your request is not acceptance.
For orders placed by telephone, email or message, we will confirm the agreed products, price, payment arrangements and delivery details.
If we cannot accept an order, we will tell you promptly and refund any payment taken for it.
Submitting an enquiry or consultation form does not reserve flowers, hired items or an event date. Wedding and event bookings are confirmed as described in Section 12.
7. Local Delivery
We deliver within 20km of Clew Bay Floral Studio Limited, Lecanvey, Murrisk, Westport, Co. Mayo, Éire, F28 K192.
Available delivery dates, charges and order deadlines are displayed at checkout or agreed directly with you. Same-day delivery is available only where expressly offered and confirmed.
We deliver on the agreed date. A specific time is guaranteed only if we expressly confirm it. Please tell us before ordering if delivery before a particular ceremony, funeral or event is essential.
You must provide an accurate delivery address, Eircode and sufficient contact information. Please also provide relevant access instructions.
For deliveries to churches, funeral homes, hospitals, hotels or other venues, please check that the venue can accept the flowers and tell us about any restrictions. We remain responsible for carrying out the delivery as agreed.
If a delay or delivery problem occurs, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible. Your legal rights concerning late or failed delivery remain unaffected, including where an agreed delivery deadline was essential.
8. If the Recipient is Unavailable
Please tell us whether delivery to an authorised neighbour, reception desk or other named person is acceptable.
We will not assume permission to leave flowers unattended. Where you request a safe-place delivery, we will consider whether the location is suitable for fresh flowers and confirm any arrangement with you.
If we cannot complete delivery, we will try to contact you or the recipient to agree the next step.
Where an additional delivery attempt is necessary because of incorrect information or an agreed access arrangement not being available, we may charge a reasonable, previously disclosed redelivery fee. We will explain and agree any new charge before proceeding. No redelivery charge applies where the failed delivery was our fault.
Responsibility for the goods passes in accordance with applicable consumer law. These terms do not remove our responsibility for loss or damage caused by our delivery service.
9. Changes and Cancellation of Fresh-Flower Orders
Contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order. Changes depend on availability and how far preparation has progressed. We will confirm any agreed change and price difference.
Fresh flowers are liable to deteriorate rapidly and are generally excluded from the statutory 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right for online purchases.
As our own cancellation policy, we will provide a full refund if you cancel before we have begun preparing your order or incurred costs specifically for it.
If preparation has started or flowers or materials have been purchased specifically for your order, any cancellation charge will be limited to reasonable, unavoidable costs and losses resulting from the cancellation. We will take account of costs saved and materials we can reuse or resell and explain any deduction.
Once delivery has been completed, we do not offer refunds solely because you have changed your mind about fresh flowers. This does not affect your rights if the goods are faulty, damaged or not as described.
Wedding and event cancellations are addressed separately below.
10. Problems, Complaints and Refunds
We want you to be happy with your flowers. If your order arrives damaged, incorrect or in an unsatisfactory condition, contact us promptly on 087 343 1258 or hello@clewbayfloralstudio.ie, quoting your order reference.
For fresh flowers, contacting us as soon as possible—ideally within 24 hours—helps us assess their condition. This is a request to help us resolve the issue, not a deadline that removes your legal rights.
Photographs may help, but we will consider other available information where photographs cannot reasonably be provided.
Depending on the circumstances and your statutory rights, a remedy may include replacement, a price reduction or a refund. Fresh flowers have a naturally limited lifespan, but this does not excuse a problem present at delivery.
Where a refund is due, we will process it without undue delay and within any applicable legal deadline, normally using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed. We do not charge an administration fee for a statutory refund.
If a return is reasonably required because of a fault, we will explain the arrangements and cover the necessary return cost.
11. Non-Perishable Goods and Statutory Cancellation
This section applies where we sell non-perishable goods online or by another distance-selling method and no legal exception applies.
You generally have 14 days from receiving the goods to notify us that you wish to cancel without giving a reason. You then have a further 14 days to return them.
You may cancel by emailing hello@clewbayfloralstudio.ie, writing to Clew Bay Floral Studio Limited, Lecanvey, Murrisk, Westport, Co. Mayo, Éire, F28 K192, or using the model cancellation form at the end of these terms. Use of the form is optional.
Returns should be sent to [returns address]. You are responsible for the direct return cost for a change-of-mind return where we have informed you of this before purchase. If an item cannot normally be returned by post, we will provide the required return-cost information before the sale.
We will refund the goods and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. Additional costs for an upgraded delivery service are not refundable as part of a change-of-mind cancellation.
We may withhold the refund until the returned goods arrive or you provide evidence of sending them back, whichever occurs first. We may deduct a loss in value caused by handling beyond what was reasonably necessary to establish the goods’ nature, characteristics and functioning, where legally permitted.
Exceptions may apply to genuinely personalised or made-to-specification goods. Any applicable exception will be explained before purchase. Faulty-goods rights remain unaffected.
12. Wedding and Event Consultations, Quotes and Bookings
Wedding flowers are individually priced. Packages may include fresh flowers, floral arrangements, decoration hire, delivery, setup and collection.
A consultation or enquiry does not secure your date.
Our written quote will specify:
-
The event date and venue or venues.
-
The flowers, arrangements, hired items and services included.
-
The total price and any separately identified charges.
-
The booking payment and balance deadline.
-
Setup, delivery and collection arrangements.
-
Any particular design requirements or agreed substitutions.
Quotes remain valid for 30 days, unless stated otherwise, and are subject to availability until accepted.
Your booking is confirmed when you accept the quote, pay the agreed booking payment and receive our written booking confirmation.
The booking payment is credited towards the total price. It is not automatically forfeited in every cancellation circumstance.
The balance is due 14 days before the event, unless your written booking confirmation specifies a different schedule.
Any optional design or consultation fee must be disclosed and agreed before that service is provided.
13. Wedding and Event Changes
Please request changes as early as possible. Final quantities and design details must be agreed by [number] days before the event, unless otherwise stated in your booking confirmation.
We will confirm whether a requested change is possible and explain any price adjustment before you agree to it.
Reductions may affect costs already reasonably committed for your booking. Any charge will reflect reasonable, unavoidable costs and losses, taking account of savings and opportunities to reuse materials.
We will not make a material change to an accepted booking or increase its agreed price without your agreement.
If a particular item becomes unavailable, we will discuss a suitable alternative. Where no acceptable alternative can be agreed, you may cancel the affected part for a refund, or the booking where the change fundamentally affects the agreed package.
14. Wedding and Event Cancellation or Postponement
Please notify us in writing if you wish to cancel or postpone. If you initially contact us by telephone, we will confirm the request in writing.
Any statutory cancellation right takes priority over this section.
Outside an applicable statutory cancellation right, cancellation charges will be limited to reasonable, proportionate and unavoidable costs or losses caused by the cancellation. These may include agreed work already carried out and items specifically committed to your booking that cannot reasonably be cancelled or reused.
We will take reasonable steps to reduce losses, account for costs saved and avoid charging twice for the same loss. We will provide a breakdown and refund any payment exceeding the justified cancellation charge.
If you request a postponement, we will check availability and discuss whether your booking can transfer. Any new date, revised price or additional cost must be agreed in writing.
If we are unavailable on the proposed new date, cancellation will be assessed under this section rather than automatically resulting in the loss of every payment made.
If we cancel and cannot provide an alternative you accept, we will refund payments for goods and services not supplied. Your other statutory rights remain unaffected.
15. Cancellation Rights for Service and Hire Bookings
Fresh-flower cancellation exceptions do not automatically apply to every service or hired item included in a wedding package.
Where a service contract is concluded online, by telephone or away from our business premises and a statutory cooling-off right applies, we will provide the relevant cancellation information before you book. For most distance service contracts, the period is 14 days from the contract being concluded.
If you want an eligible service to begin during that period, we will obtain any express request required by law. If you then cancel, a proportionate charge for work supplied may apply where the legal conditions have been met.
You lose an applicable service cancellation right following full performance only where the required prior consent and acknowledgement have been obtained.
We will explain any specific legal exception that applies to your booking before you commit. A deposit payment alone is not treated as a waiver of statutory cancellation rights.
16. Decoration Hire
Hired decorations remain our property unless the quote expressly states that an item is being sold.
Your hire confirmation will identify the items, hire period, price, any refundable security deposit and delivery or return arrangements.
Please take reasonable care of hired items and use them only for their intended purpose. Do not alter, attach adhesives to, relocate significant installations or pass items to another hirer without our agreement.
We will supply items suitable for their agreed purpose. Please tell us promptly about missing or damaged items so we can investigate and resolve the issue. Failure to report an issue immediately does not remove your statutory rights.
You are responsible for loss or damage attributable to misuse, negligence or a failure to follow reasonable agreed care instructions by you or people you allow to use the items. You are not responsible for fair wear and tear, pre-existing defects or damage caused by us.
Any repair or replacement charge will be reasonable and evidenced, taking account of the item’s age, condition and value. We will not impose an automatic new-for-old charge regardless of the circumstances.
Any security-deposit deduction will be explained. The remaining deposit will be returned within [number] working days of return and inspection.
Please return items or make them available for collection at the agreed time. Any late-return charge must be disclosed before booking and proportionate to the resulting cost or loss.
17. Venue Access, Setup and Safety
Please provide accurate venue details and arrange the permissions and access needed for the agreed setup and collection.
Tell us about venue rules affecting candles, arches, installations, fixing methods, carpets, outdoor displays or collection times.
We will agree responsibilities for permissions, access and setup before the event. Additional services or costs arising from a change will be explained and agreed wherever possible before being incurred.
Candles and installations must be used according to our instructions and venue requirements. Items must not obstruct exits or create a foreseeable safety hazard.
For outdoor arrangements, weather conditions may require a safer alternative. We will discuss material changes and any price or refund implications with you. We will not install something we reasonably consider unsafe.
We remain responsible for the reasonable care and skill of our own work.
18. Flower Care
Flowers are natural, perishable products. Different varieties open and age at different rates, so some blooms in a mixed arrangement will naturally fade sooner than others. Some flowers may arrive in bud and continue to open after delivery.
The lifespan of your arrangement depends on the flower varieties, room temperature, placement and care. We select flowers for freshness and suitability, but cannot promise that every bloom will last for the same length of time.
To help your flowers last:
-
Keep them in a cool place, away from direct sunlight, radiators, draughts and ripening fruit.
-
For bouquets transferred to a vase, use a clean vase, trim the stems with clean scissors or secateurs and remove any leaves below the waterline.
-
Check water daily, replenish as needed and change it regularly. Use any supplied flower food according to its instructions.
-
For arrangements in floral foam or a water-filled presentation pack, follow the specific care instructions supplied and keep the water supply topped up.
-
Remove fading flowers and foliage gently so the remaining blooms can continue to be enjoyed.
Natural ageing does not affect your right to receive flowers of satisfactory quality. If your flowers arrive wilted, damaged or deteriorate unusually quickly despite following the care instructions, please contact us promptly on 087 343 1258 or at hello@clewbayfloralstudio.ie. Photographs and details of delivery and care can help us assess the issue, but are not a condition of your statutory rights.
Flowers and foliage are for decoration and are not intended for consumption. Some varieties can be harmful to people or animals. Please tell us before ordering if particular flowers must be avoided; do not assume an arrangement is pet-safe or allergen-free unless expressly confirmed.
19. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
Severe weather, venue closures or other events outside our reasonable control may affect supply or delivery.
We will notify you promptly, take reasonable steps to reduce disruption and discuss available options.
This clause does not allow us to retain payment for goods or services we cannot supply without considering your legal rights. Where the contract is lawfully ended, refunds will be provided as required. We will not substitute a credit voucher for a refund without your agreement.
20. Our Responsibility
We are responsible for supplying goods that meet the agreed description and applicable quality requirements, and for carrying out services with reasonable care and skill.
We do not exclude or restrict liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or breaches of statutory consumer rights.
You should tell us about any essential delivery deadline or particular requirement before the contract is made so we can confirm whether we can meet it.
21. Photographs and Portfolio Use
Website photographs and brochures are provided to show our work and inspire your choices. They do not replace the details of your accepted order or quote.
Where photographs identify you or your guests, we will obtain appropriate permission before using them for our marketing. We will not publish personal card messages, addresses or other private order details without permission.
Our website content and photographs must not be reproduced commercially without permission from the relevant rights holder.
22. Privacy
We use personal information to manage enquiries, orders, payments and deliveries as explained in our Privacy Policy.
For details about the cookies used on our website, click the cookie-settings icon in the bottom left corner of the page.
23. Complaints
Please contact hello@clewbayfloralstudio.ie or 087 343 1258 with your order or booking reference and a description of the issue.
We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and will explain the next steps. Where an event or delivery is imminent, please call so we can respond as quickly as possible.
Our complaints process does not prevent you from exercising your legal rights or seeking independent assistance.
24. Applicable Law and Changes to These Terms
These terms are governed by Irish law. This does not remove any mandatory consumer protections or rights to bring proceedings in a court available to you under applicable law.
The version supplied or made available when your order or booking is accepted applies to that contract. Later website updates do not retrospectively change an existing agreement without your agreement.
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply where they can fairly operate independently.
Model Cancellation Form
Complete and return this form only if you wish to cancel a contract for which a statutory cancellation right applies. You may instead send another clear statement of cancellation.
